Composite doors: Top marks for security

Composite doors have become the number one choice of door when security is the determining factor when placing an order. Let's be honest, we all value our property and the safety of our family, so it's only natural that we want a door that not only looks good but will offer many years of robust service.

Composite doors are manufactured using a variety of premium materials and employing the latest advancements in window and door technology. With close attention to security, thermal insulation and aesthetically appealing designs, it's easy to see why composite doors have become so popular in recent years. Composite doors feature incredibly effective insulating and secure foam core, that is incapsulated inside a glass reinforced plastic outer layer.

Composite doors are easy to maintain

The way in which composite doors are manufactured makes them highly resistant to adverse weather conditions and are virtually maintenance-free, so your door will look its best for many years to come. The ability to resist the weather is extremely important in an external door, as the extremes of weather can wreak havoc on the exterior of your property. Rain, snow, ice, and glaring sun can all damage building materials, but our composite doors simply shrug off whatever the British weather can throw at them.

Traditional styled composite doors are perfect for older properties or for adding that traditional look to a more contemporary property. Traditional composite doors are ideal for homeowners who demand a high-quality front or back door, that will compliment the style of their home.

Contemporary composite doors are the perfect choice for the more modern home, but they can look equally stylish on the older, more traditional properties.

Composite doors are strong and secure

As composite doors have an insulating foam core and an incredibly strong outer frame, the multi-layered composition of a composite door provides great levels of strength and resilience. This makes composite doors the ideal choice for your home.

Our composite doors have an expanded reinforcing mesh within the door itself, with a high-density core and an extremely strong vertical steel bar. This manufacturing process offers an incredibly durable door that is actually rated much higher than all the security standards that have been approved by the police.

Composite doors require little to no maintenance

Another great feature of a composite door is that it doesn't require time-consuming and expensive maintenance to keep it great. Unlike traditional timber doors, composite doors are not prone to fading, warping, or cracking and you don't need to worry about repainting them as they resist weathering. A simple wipe down with a damp cloth and some mild detergent will keep your door looking in tip top condition.

Composite doors have fantastic thermal efficiency

Our composite doors will keep your home as comfortable as possible. Heat won't escape and the cold can't get in so you will enjoy lower heating bills and a much warmer home with no draughts.

Composite doors keep out noise

Our composite doors not only keep the cold and draughts out, but they also keep unwanted noise out too. It can become extremely annoying if you live near a main road or a railway line, as the noise can be highly invasive. A composite door will help to keep outside noise to a minimum. matter where you live.

Our composite doors last for many years

Our composite doors come with a ten-year guarantee as standard but will last you so much longer. With quality, functionality, good looks and a robust design, our composite doors are a sure-fire winner in the home improvement stakes.

A little about Chesham

There is archaeological evidence of the earliest settlement during the Late Mesolithic period around 5000 BC in East Street, Chesham where a large quantity of Flint tools were found. The earliest farming evidence from the Neolithic era around 2500 BC. Bronze Age tribes settled in the valley around 1800 BC and they were succeeded by Iron Age Belgic people of the Catuvellauni tribe around 500 BC. Between 150-400 AD there is evidence of Romano-British farming and nearby at Latimer there is archaeological evidence of a Roman villa and the planting of grapevines. However the area was then deserted until the Saxon period around the 7th century.

Contrary to popular belief, the town is not named after the river; rather, the river is named after the town. The first recorded reference to Chesham is under an Old English name meaning "the river meadow at the pile of stones" around 970 in the will of Lady Elfgifu, who has been identified with the former wife of King Eadwig. She held an estate here which she bequeathed to Abingdon Abbey.

Prior to 1066 there were three adjacent estates which comprised Caestreham which are briefly recorded in the Domesday Book as having four mills. The most important of these manors was held by Queen Edith, the widow of Edward the Confessor. Other land having been returned to the Crown it was in the hands of Harold Godwinson and his brother Leofwine Godwinson. Part of these later became Chesham Bois parish. After 1066 Edith kept her lands and William the Conqueror divided royal lands between his half brother Odo, Bishop of Bayeux and Hugh de Bolbec.
